Coach Kelly Donohoe 
Coaches: Quarterbacks
Years at Blue Springs: 6
Coach Kelly Donohoe graduated from Harrisonville High School (MO) in 1986. He played
quarterback at
the University of Kansas from 1986-1989 . He got his B.S. in communications
in 1990 (KU) , Masters in Education in 1991 (KU) and his specialist in
Education Administration in 2001 (CMSU).
Coach Donohoe's parents are Tom & Sharon Donohoe , they live
and work in Harrisonville. His wife is Jennifer who teaches reading in
the district. He has a 10 year old daughter Taylor and a 7 year old son
Chase. ( Both die hard Wildcat Fans). Kelly has 3 brothers and a
sister. Brother Shawn works in Real Estate, Brother Colin works in the
Los Angeles unified school district, Chad works in Lawrence, KS as an
ordained Minister and sister Kara teaches elementary in Warrensburg.
Coach Donohoe was an Assistant Coach for Blue Springs South from
1993-1996, Head Coach for Raytown South 1997-1999 and has been the head
coach for Blue Springs from 2000 to the present.
Kelly has tremendously enjoyed being the head football coach
at Blue
Springs High. He feels extremely fortunate to be surrounded by
a lot
of great coaches and
players who share a strong passion for the
program.
He would like to thank the parents for their support and
sacrifices of the team. Coach Donohoe and the staff are looking forward
to kicking off and establishing another team that you are proud of on
and off the field.
Assistant
Head Coach Marc Hines
Coaches: Wide Receivers
Years on Blue Springs staff: 23
Coach Marc Hines has been at BSHS for 23 years. He graduated from
CMSU in 1982. Coach Hines has a BS in Industrial Tech and he received a
Masters in Education from Webster University in 1998.
Coach Hines is married to Lynn and has enjoyed teaching and
coaching at BSHS. The tradition in Blue Springs Football has been great
and striving to continue that tradition is what makes being a part of
the football staff so great! Coach Hines is also an assistant coach for
the Wildcat Baseball team.

Tim Dade
Coaches: Defensive Coordinator
Years on Blue Springs staff: 4
Coach Tim Dade is beginning his fifth year in the Blue Springs School
District, all having been spent as a physical education instructor at
Sunny Vale Middle School. After graduating from Neveda High School in
1971, he went to Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State
University) and earned his lifetime certificate in Physical Education
and Health. He has spent 26 years teaching and coaching in the
communities of Jasper High School, East Newton High School and
Harrisonville high School before coming to Blue Springs. Of his 28 years
of coaching, he has been fortunate enough to have spent 14 years of that
time as a head coach in both football and track & field. During the fall
of 1981 and spring of 1982, he received his Master in Physical
Education.
His family consists of his wife Pat, who also teaches in the
Blue Springs School District as a Reading Interventionist, and daughters
Brecklyn & Jillian. Brecklyn is a nurse at Children's Mercy
Hospital and Jillian is a second grade teacher in the Independence
School District. Tim's duties include serving as defensive coordinator
and working with the defensive secondary in football. Coach Dade is also
the coach for the jumping events in Track & Field at Blue Springs High
School.

Jared Barge
Coaches: Offensive Line
Years on Blue Springs staff: 5
Coach Jared Barge is entering his sixth year coaching the Wildcat Offensive
Line. Jared worked as a paraprofessional for the Blue Springs School
District for three years before returning to school full-time at CMSU to
earn his teachers certificate in History. He also has been the shot put
and discus coach at Blue Springs for the last 5 years.
Jared graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1996 after a
successful career as a Wildcat football and track athlete. He was a
two-time All-State lineman and a three time All-State thrower. Jared
attended the University of Missouri on a football scholarship and
transferred to Washburn University after his red shirt year. He was a
four year starter at Washburn playing center. Jared received All-team
American honors as a senior at Washburn along with three years on the
All-MIAA team. Jared returned to Blue Springs with aspirations to play
professionally and found that there was need for help on the offensive
line.
Jared and his wife Janelle were married in December of 2004.
They live in Blue Springs with their two dogs Roxanne and Otto. Jared
has an older brother Jeff and a younger brother Josh who just completed
his college career playing wide receiver for the University of Wyoming.
His mother Mary Kathryn lives at Lake Tapawingo and his father Larry
lives in Buckner. Jared and Janelle are expecting their first child in
November.

Pete Carpino
Coaches: Inside Linebackers
Years on Blue Springs staff: 1
Coach Pete Carpino is originally from Pittsburg, Kansas where he was
born and raised, went to Colgan High School and graduated from Pittsburg
State University with a BSED major in physical education in 1989 and a
Master of Science in Special Education in 1992. He is married to
Stephanie Carpino, also from Pittsburg, KS (Go Gorillas!) who is an
obstetrician/gynecologist at Health Care for Women, located at the
Cliffs. He has three children: Rachel (14) who attends Bernard Campbell
Middle School and Elizabeth (10) and Sarah (7) who both attend Hazel
Grove Elementary in the Lees's Summit School District.
Pete has been teaching since 1989, originally in Kansas in
Winchester, Desoto and Shawnee Mission School Districts, then in
Missouri at Raytown South High School and mostly at Raytown High School.
He has taught special education/ behavior disorders for all but the last
seven years, when he has been teaching weight training and physical
education. He is currently back teaching special education and at Blue
Springs High School.
Pete has been coaching football in one form or another for
twenty one years, originally coaching Pop Warner league in Pittsburg and
going on to be an assistant coach in the school districts he was
teaching in. He was the defensive coordinator at Raytown South under
Blue Springs head coach Kelly Donohoe and went on to be the head
football coach at Raytown High for the six years (1999-2004).

Shawn Clark
Coaches: Defensive Line
Years on Blue Springs staff: 4
Coach Shawn Clark has been teaching science at Blue Springs High
School going on five years. During his five years at the high school
coach Clark has coached football, basketball and track and this year
will be the varsity Defensive Line coach.
Shawn graduated from Blue Springs High school in 1997 where
he played football and track. He attended William Jewell college in
Liberty after he graduated where he earned a B.A. in Biology in 2001.
Coach Clark earned a varsity letter in football all four years while at
William Jewell. Coach Clark earned a Masters Degree in teaching from
Central Missouri State University and is currently working towards a
Specialist Degree.
Coach Clark was married in Jamaica to Crystal and they are
looking forward to starting a family soon.
Coach Clark's family include his sister also named Crystal
that graduated from Blue Springs in 2004. His mother Barbara, and his
father Mike, who are very active in the community and football program.
They are currently in charge of the concession stand for the high
school. Coach Clark will be working with the Defensive line this year
and will also be working with the players in the weight room.

Sterling Edwards
Coaches: Tight Ends
Years on Blue Springs staff: 1
Coach Sterling Edwards is in his second year at BSHS and will coach
Tight Ends and help coach the JV offense again this year. In the
classroom, Edwards teaches mathematics. Coach Edwards is also
responsible for maintaining the Wildcat's web site you see here.
Originally from Excelsior Springs, MO, Coach Edwards spent eight
years teaching and as an assistant coach at Excelsior Springs High
School. The last three years at ESHS, Edwards was the offensive
coordinator of the Tigers. While at ESHS Edwards also coaches
junior varsity boys basketball.
Edwards attended the University of Missouri and Central
Missouri State University, where he received his bachelor's degree
in 1997. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in Athletic
Administration from William Woods University.
In 1997 Coach Edwards married Mendy, also from Excelsior
Springs. She teaches in the Excelsior Springs School District and
is the head volleyball coach at ESHS. The Edwards' have a beautiful
3 year old daughter, Landry (who is named after the legendary coach
of the Dallas Cowboys, Tom Landry).
Coach Edwards parents are Ralph and Joan Edwards of Liberty,
MO. Ralph is a retired teacher and coach in Excelsior Springs
and has been a major influence on Sterling's coaching career.
Ralph helps the Wildcat program on Friday nights by working the
video editing computer from the pressbox.
Coach Edwards enjoys the
challenges of coaching at Blue Springs and working with a program of
unmatched tradition.

Wendell Fuimaono
Coaches: Outside Safeties
Years on Blue Springs staff: 5
Coach Wendell Fuimaono is beginning his sixth year teaching in the Blue Springs
School District and starting his sixth season as a Wildcat Football
Coach. Originally from California, Wendell was raised in Blue Springs,
was a former Wildcat, and graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1996
where he played football. He has an older brother, Chris, a twin
brother, Daniel, and a younger sister Vickie.
Wendell attended Missouri Valley College where he graduated
with Honors with a degree in Social Studies Education (9-12) in 2001.
After playing football for one year at Valley, he took an interest in
coaching and was a student coach for the Vikings his senior year.
While student teaching at BSHS, he volunteered to coach on
the freshman staff. Wendell was hired the next year and has been
grateful for the opportunity to learn from great coaches and to work
with great kids. The correlation between sports, the classroom, and
helping kids become young men is very important to him.
Wendell and his wife, Danica have been married 3 years and
welcomed their first child , Jaxon Davis Fuimaono (future Wildcat ) into
their family on April 5, 2005. Along with teaching Social Studies at the
Freshman Center, Coach Fuimaono is very excited to working with the
outside safeties.

John Garrison
Coaches: Offensive Line
Years on Blue Springs staff: 1
Coach John Garrison attended Blue Springs High where he was an All-American,
playing defensive end for Coach Dave Podjenski. After high school
Garrison went to the University of Nebraska where he was a valuable
member of Nebraska's special teams, serving as NU's snapper as a true
Freshman and took over the starting center position the last two
seasons.
Coach Garrison teaches Special Education at BSHS. He is the
son of John and Jill Garrison. Born July 7, 1980 in Clarksburg,
WV. This will be Coach Garrisons second year of coaching. He enjoys
fishing as a hobby.
He really enjoys being around young people and watching each
of them grow on and off the field as young men. There is no greater
feeling than to be part of a team full of different personalities and
backgrounds all working toward one goal and when it all comes together
it's something very special.

Eric Neff
Coaches: Running Backs
Years on Blue Springs staff: 5
Coach Eric Neff is entering his 13th year of coaching high school football.
This is his 6th season at Blue Springs High School. His pervious
coaching experience includes , 4 years at Raytown South, 2 years at Blue
Springs South, and 1 year at Kickapoo High School in Springfield.
Coach Neff is a 1989 graduate from Ruskin High School. He
attended college at Lonview Community College, University of
Missouri-Columbia, and earned a bachelor's degree at SMSU (now Missouri
State) in 1995. He recently earned a Masters Degree from Southwest
Baptist University.
Coach Neff teaches Health and Physical Education at the
Freshman Center. Coach Neff is married to Karla, who is also a coach and
teacher in the school district. They have 5 children--- Michael (15) ,
Alex (11), Whitney (10) , Bridgett (8), and Riley who just turned 3.

Dave Podjenski
Coaches: Defensive Line
Years on Blue Springs staff: 16
Coach Dave Podjenski has been teaching in the Blue Springs School
District for 16 years. He started at the 9-10 building, which is now the
Freshmen Center, teaching geography and coaching football and track.
When the district built the new high school, he was assigned to the Blue
springs High School, where he began teaching Math. He continued coaching
football and track.
Coach Podjenski grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. He comes from a
family of eight, with four sisters and a brother. He is the oldest boy
but the third oldest child. Coach Podjenski graduated from Creighton
Prep School in 1979 where he played football and participated in
forensics. After High School, he attended Rockhurst College where he
received his B.A. in Education and was certified to teach Social Studies
and Physical Education. After college he took a job with California R-5
School District in California, MO as a social studies teacher and coach
of football, basketball and track. After 3 years he went back to Omaha
and attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha. There he obtained his
Math teaching degree. He then moved to Sedalia and spent a year teaching
for the Smithton R-4 district as a Math teacher and girls basketball
coach. After the year a Smithton, he was hired to teach at Blue Springs.
While teaching in Blue Springs, he furthered his education by attending
UMKC to obtain his masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
While attending the University of Nebraska he met his wife
Becky. They have been married for 18 years, and have 5 children. Ryan
14, Nathan 12, Andrew 10, Marybeth 6 and Benjamin 4. He enjoys sports of
all kinds, both playing and coaching and spending time with his family
and friends.
Coach Podjenski has coached football at BSHS for 16 years. He
has coached at all levels and on both sides of the ball. He is currently
a Defensive Line coach and an Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus teacher.
Freshmen
Head Coach Chad Curtis
Coaches: Head Freshmen Coach
Years on Blue Springs staff: 0
Coach Chad Curtis is entering his 13th year in education. However this is
his first year with the Blue Springs School District. He's been hired to
teach Freshman Health and serve as the Head Freshman Football coach.
Born and raised in Southeast Iowa, Chad attended Highland
High School in Riverside, Iowa followed by Simpson College in Indianola,
Iowa. Chad later earned his Master's Degree in Educational
Administration from Texas A&M Kingsville University.
Chad was raised by a coach so naturally took to playing
sports early on. During high school, Chad participated in football,
basketball, wrestling, track, and baseball...he continued with baseball
into college. Chad has spent the last 12 1/2 years in San Antonio,
Texas. He spent the first 1/2 year student teaching, 11 years as a
teacher/coach and 1 year as an assistant principal. Chad has served as a
P.E. Coordinator, taught P.E. and has been an Assistant Principal at the
middle school level and has taught Health at the High School level.
During his coaching tenure Chad's been an Assistant Football/Baseball
Coach at the high school level and has served as an Athletic
Coordinator, coached football, basketball and track at the middle school
level. Chad has also been involved with the Fellowship of Christian
Athletes ministry on various campuses for several years.
Coach Curtis is excited about being LOTS closer to family and
experiencing teaching/coaching in a new environment....let alone STATE.

Tim McElligott
Coaches: Freshmen Defensive Coordinator
Years on Blue Springs staff: 9
Coach Tim McElligott is married to Tracey and has a 5 year old daughter
named Keely. He graduated from Truman High School in 1989 and then
attended CMSU where he graduated in 1994 with a BSE in Social Studies
9-12. He then attended Webster University where he received his MSE in
Curriculum/ Education. Coach McElligott has been teaching 11 years
overall. He taught at William Chrisman the Spring of 1994, from
1994-1996 he taught in Oak Grove High School, from 1996-1997 he taught
at William Chrisman High School and from 1997 to present he has taught
at Blue Springs High School. Coach McElligott teaches 10th grade
world history and 11/12 grade sociology.

Matt Marble
Coaches: Freshman Assistant
Years on Blue Springs staff: 0
Coach Matt Marble in entering his first year coaching for BSHS. Matt
grew up in Blue Springs where he played football, basketball and track.
Coach Marble is an Aide for both BSHS and BSSHS .
He is excited to start his first year of coaching. Matt is
looking forward to working with the great group of boys heading into
their Freshman year. Matt will be coaching the Receivers and Defensive
Backs.
Matt went to Truman State College where he played Football.
Matt has been married to his wife Adri for a year and a half. Matt is
very excited to enter into the Wildcat Football Staff, he expects to
enjoy many years of coaching at BSHS.

Jackie Qualls
Coaches: Freshman Assistant
Years on Blue Springs staff: 0
Coach Jackie Qualls grew up in Independence, MO where he attended
Raytown High School. He then went to CMSU for a year and a half where he
played baseball and football. After working in the Architectural field
for 17 years, Coach Qualls choose to go back to CMSU and get his degree
in Math Education. He graduated from CMSU in the fall of 2005. Coach
Qualls student taught at Blue Springs High School and was offered a
contract with Blue Springs while student teaching. He will be starting
his second year as a math teacher at BSHS.
Coach Qualls has been married for 11 years. He has a 14 year
old son named Zach and a 10 year old daughter named Samantha. He will be
a volunteer Offensive and Defensive line coach for the Freshman team
this year.
