"Win at Everything We Do!" - Slade Morlang 1968-2009

Recently Blue Springs High School lost a very special person in Slade Morlang. Slade was a 1986 graduate of Blue Springs High School where he played football and ran track. Slade also taught and coached at Blue Springs and then became an Associate Principal. In his honor, the Wildcats dedicated the Columbia-Rock Bridge football game to him. Slade's son, Ty (#7) was an honorary captain for the game. Ty is a sophomore at Blue Springs High School. The #7 was the jersey number his dad wore at Blue Springs.

For the remainder of the season, the Wildcats will wear a special "SM" sticker on their helmets in memory of Mr. Morlang. Fittingly, the sticker will be worn on the front of their helmet next to the word "TEAM". Slade will forever be remembered as a true Wildcat and one of the most special people ever to have walked the campus of Blue Springs High School.
